VISIT SOC TRANG AND TRAN DE INDUSTRIAL PARK WITH A GROUP OF INVESTORS
Soc Trang welcomed our group early in the morning with a rain shower, but after the meeting, the rain stopped and the sun came out.
RETURN TO SOC TRANG PROVINCE
This is the first time I have been to Soc Trang, my first impression is that Soc Trang city is quite bustling, with a large population. Traffic is gradually being improved when the Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang expressway is completed, which will significantly shorten the travel time to Can Tho and HCM.
The planning of Soc Trang province for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister on August 25, 2023, also clearly states that Soc Trang is oriented to become the main gateway to the East Sea of the Mekong Delta, a regional hub for agriculture, industry, services, and logistics with a focus on the Tran De offshore seaport.
Tran De port has the capacity to receive general cargo ships and container ships with a capacity of about 100,000 DWT and a design capacity of 80 – 100 million tons per year. The Tran De port cluster will help export goods directly in the Mekong Delta without having to transfer to Vung Tau. If implemented, it will change the entire appearance of the Mekong Delta provinces.
Soc Trang is also a province with renewable energy projects, specifically wind power with 11 projects under construction, of which 7 projects have been put into commercial operation with a total capacity of 340 MW; Soc Trang’s specialty that everyone who comes to Soc Trang once stops to buy: Soc Trang Pia cake
BACK TO THE INDUSTRIAL PARK
An Nghiep Industrial Park is almost out of land
The delegation surveyed Tran De Industrial Park with a scale of 160 hectares, completed infrastructure, land lease term until 2069.
Priority industries include food and agricultural product processing industry, seafood, production of seafood feed (taking advantage of the region’s raw material resources), garment (taking advantage of the large population), mechanics, shipbuilding and other light industries such as garment, plastic, wood products, packaging, rubber…
I believe that in the next 3-5 years, Soc Trang will develop even more, all conditions are available and ready, welcoming investors to research and set up factories
